While Illinois law requires entities like the Illinois Casino Gaming Association to list the lobbyists it hires, it does not require them to specify the work undertaken when lobbyists contract work out amongst each other. Here, the Gaming Association lists nine lobbyists it hires. But those lobbyists all list other lobbyists with whom they have contractual relationships; and those lobbyists list other contractual relationships. What is the full extent of lobbying being done by whom for the Gaming Association? Impossible for the public to know.
